By day, I help build the global MSP ecosystem in cybersecurity. By any other hour, I'm probably plotting the next trip — somewhere I haven't been yet.
Scott Barlow is a channel executive, investor, and board member, and currently serves as Chief Evangelist & Global Head of Community at Sophos, a next-generation cybersecurity leader in network and endpoint security. In this role, Scott champions Sophos' Global MSP strategy and community engagement, driving innovation, growth, and alignment across the entire partner ecosystem. He leads global initiatives to scale Sophos' presence with MSPs, MSSPs, CSPs, telcos, and marketplaces — creating a unified, go-to-market vision that empowers partners and accelerates revenue.
A tireless advocate for the managed services model, Scott is a staunch advocate for the channel — focused on simplicity, scalability, and service-centric cybersecurity delivery. He frequently speaks at industry events around the world, sharing actionable insights on securing the modern MSP and how to sell cybersecurity in an increasingly complex threat landscape.
That speaking calendar is also the not-so-secret reason for the passport stamps. Somewhere along the way the work trips turned into a habit, and the habit turned into a count: 60 countries — or 72 territories. New destinations are the only ones that really pull at me; I'd almost always rather chase a country I haven't seen than revisit one I have. Recent obsessions have included Central America (Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Panama, all chronicled here), a wildly underrated 24 hours in Doha, and a running list of places that keep getting bumped up the queue.
Prior to Sophos, Scott was VP of Sales & Marketing at Reflexion Networks, acquired by Sophos in 2015. He currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Global Technology Industry Association (GTIA) and MSP Well, and previously served on the CompTIA and Creating IT Futures Foundation board.
Scott has earned numerous industry accolades, including Channel Maddness winner, CRN Channel Chief, IPED Channel Master, Channel Partners Top Gun 51, and Midmarket Channel Executive of the Year. He holds both an MBA and a Master of Science in Geophysics from Boston College — a combination that explains both the spreadsheets and the stubborn curiosity about how the planet is put together.
